New opportunities

Well, the good news is I'll be doing a series of articles for Examiner.com as a contributing writer/photographer. I'll be based in San Diego, and I'll crosslink to those articles as they get published. Stay tuned!

Now, since we can't have a blog post without photos - unless it's a Basics article, or an occasional RPU - we need some pictures. I was thinking about wildflowers (getting antsy for spring, maybe?) since we've had so much rain this winter that chances are good we'll get a spectacular display in about six weeks or so. I found this in the archives - not really a wildflower, but hey, it's past my bedtime and it is a flower:

Spring isn't here yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

Oh, ok, I was just teasing. Here are some desert wildflowers from a couple of years ago; although plentiful, this is one of my favorites.

A sprig of phacelia, blooming against all hope in the midst of arid desolation.

And just for fun, here's a squirrelly beach bum who was quite disgruntled that I didn't have any soft drinks to share:

"You paparazzi are shameless - can't I even come to the beach?!"
